Peopleprint Community Media has been giving local people a voice since 1984. We have grown to become leading providers of local digital content. Core work includes: podcasting, blogging, social networking, digital video, photography and design. We are passionate about creating a friendly atmosphere for people to share skills, gain confidence and go digital.
We work with all ages and abilities in the local community at our studio based on Kirkholt Estate, Rochdale. We have a core team of volunteers with an emphasis on informal training, skills sharing and confidence. The positive media produced is of benefit to the local community to tackle isolation and community cohesion, giving local people a voice through digital content. Outreach projects are delivered with community groups, schools and colleges.
“I first contacted Peopleprint 20 years ago! Both myself and many other volunteers return year after year because we always get a warm welcome and can learn new media technology at our own pace. Peopleprint is at the heart the community and has brought people and communities together through so many creative projects.”

Ben’s Story
“As European Officer for Rochdale Council I think Peopleprint’s project could and will take Rochdale into the 21st Century. More publicity and listeners and viewers will bring benefits to the locality and region as whole.”

“The podcast is such a great idea, every arts organisation should have one! I’m copying to other members of the team, to our marketing dept and to David Gaffney at ACE NW. Aside from the fact that it’s a wonderful way of alerting people to Rochdale’s serious intent to partake of the benefits of the BBC move, I think that the Martin Brooks BBC interview in particular must be of wider interest.”

“My school sent me there to keep me out of trouble and as well as learning design I met lots of creative people through the open door policy. Self expression and creativity are empowering for young people and the positive atmosphere at Peopleprint is something I’ve always tried to keep with me. I’m now a lead creative at a big branding agency and work all over the world, so thank you Peopleprint!”
